Bentuk Adjektiva Sama Dengan Bentuk Adverbia

Adjektiva adalah modifier yang digunakan untuk menerangkan nomina, frasa nomina, gerund, dan pronomina.
            
            Hang up your wet clothes. (adjektiva wet menerangkan nomina clothes)
            The two children were kind. (adjektiva kind menerangkan frasa nomina two children)
We saw some wonderful acting in the play. (adjektiva wonderful menerangkan gerund acting)
They were very brave. (adjektiva brave menerangkan pronomina they)
He is a nice man. (adjektiva nice menerangkan nomina man)
He is generous. (adjektiva generous menerangkan pronomina he)

Perlu diingat tentang adjektiva:

·         #  Adjektiva sering hadir sebelum kata yang mereka terangkan.
An important test         a quiet evening       a long article
·        
           #  Adjektiva mungkin juga mengikuti verba “to be” dan verba linking lainnya.
The glass was empty.
That song sounds nice.
They look upset.

           #  Mereka sering menjawab pertanyaan What kind?
She is a brilliant scholar. (What kind of a scholar is she? A brilliant one)

Adverbia adalah modifier yang digunakan untuk menerangkan verba, partisipel, adjektiva, kalimat, dan adverbia lainnya.

            Ann eagerly accepted the challenge. (adverbia eagerly menerangkan verba accepted)
            She wore a brightly colored scarf. (adv. brightly menerangkan past participle colored)
            It was a rapidly changing situation. (adv. rapidly menerangkan present participle changing)
Ted seemed extremely curious about that topic. (adv. extremely menerangkan adjektiva curious)
The accident occurred incredibly quickly. (adv. incredibly menerangkan adverbia quickly)
He is really generous. (adv. really menerangkan adjektiva generous)
He almost always has a smile on his face. (adv. almost menerangkan adv. always dan adv. always menerangkan verba has)
I found the English test extremely hard. (adv extremely menerangkan adjektiva hard)

Perlu diingat tentang adverbia:

·        #  Kadang-kadang adverbia digunakan pada awal kalimat, biasanya diikuti oleh koma. Adverbia ini menerangkan keseluruhan kalimat daripada satu kata dalam kalimat.
